Prepaid Tuition is on Track for a 2001 Launch
On March 28, 2000, Governor Paul Patton signed into law House Bill 180, which lay the groundwork for KAPT, Kentucky's Affordable Prepaid Tuition Plan. Since the bill was signed, Treasurer Miller has spearheaded efforts to see it move from legislative intention to programming action.

Rocky Adkins and in the Senate, the bill was shepherded by Senator Lindy Casebier and Senator Bob Jackson. House Bill 180 passed both houses of the General Assembly unanimously.

With the continued commitment of twelve board members who are overseeing the implementation of the plan, Treasurer Miller, who serves as the board's chairman, expects to launch KAPT at the beginning of the 2001 school year.
